It’s competition time again here at Thoughts On Film and this time we have a signed poster to give away from the excellent Norwegian historical drama King of Devil’s Island, which is out to own at the end of the month.
The film tells the true story of what happened at the Bastoy Prison for young boys in Norway in the early 20th century:
Under the guise of rehabilitation, the boys’ daily regime is dictated by mental and physical abuse at the hands of their wardens. The arrival of news boy Erling and Ivar sparks a chain of events that ultimately ignite rebellion. King of Devil’s Island explores a sinister moment in Norwegian history that won’t be forgotten.
We reviewed the film a couple of months ago, describing it as a, ” fittingly austere film that builds tension in a fascinating way, hitting you with an ending that’s somehow both surprising and completely necessary.”
We have a quad poster (40×30 inches) signed by the ever-brilliant Stellan Skarsgård to give away to one lucky winner. Take a look at the stunning poster below:
All you have to do be in with your chance of winning is answer the following question:
Stellan Skarsgård co-starred with Meryl Streep in which film musical?
A – Chicago
B – Mamma Mia
C – Moulin Rouge
Please send your name and answer to: rosstmiller@thoughtsonfilm.co.uk, with the subject heading “King of Devil’s Island Competition.”
Also, why not comment on this post with your favourite Stellan Skarsgård movies?

I think my favourite film that Stellan Skarsgard appears in has to Avengers (Assemble) with that still being my film of the year.
But he is a very talented actor and he is great in King of Devil’s Island too.
I also have a bit of thing for his handsome son lol
My favourite film(s) in which he appears in are King Arthur and the Avengers – Can’t pick between the two as I love them both 🙂
Personally, I think he does a great job in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. He is such a great actor though, he can play any role he’s given!
to me “en ganske snill mann”… he acts superb, you should watch it, if you haven’t..
