Well Go USA Entertainment has obtained U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to the Nicholas Hoult starring drama Kill Your Friends.
Altitude Entertainment, who released 2014’s Love is Strange and Fruitvale Station, are currently selling the film to international markets at Cannes.
The film, which also stars James Corden (Into The Woods), Craig Roberts (Submarine) and Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction), follows a music industry A&R man as he attempts to save is failing career in the most brutal ways possible.
It’s directed by Owen Harris (Black Mirror, Holy Flying Circus) and written by John Niven, who also wrote the 2008 novel of the same name. Set in the 1990s, the film’s soundtrack includes stalwarts of the decade including Oasis, Blur, Radiohead, The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers.
President and CEO of Well Go Usa, Doris Pfardrescher, said:
If you loved music in the ’90s, and you liked The Player, Swimming with Sharks and American Psycho, it still doesn’t come close to describing how savagely brilliant this movie is. The way it skewers every part of the music industry is outrageous and hysterical.
The film is due to be released early next year. However, if you can’t wait that long to see Hoult on the big-screen, he stars alongside Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road which opens this on May 14th.
