She’s one of the most sought-after actress in the business right now, particularly following her stunning performance in sci-fi think-piece Ex Machina, but now it looks like Alicia Vikander is adding two big projects to her slate.
Deadline reports that, while schedules are still very much being worked out, the Swedish actress is in talks two star in two big tentpole movies. The first is Bourne 5, the fifth film in the hugely successful action series that will reunite star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass. The second is the long-awaited Justin Kurzel (Macbeth, Snowtown)-directed video adaptation Assassin’s Creed, set to be lead her boyfriend and The Light Between Oceans co-star Michael Fassbender.
It’s reported that Vikander is already attached to The Circle, an adaptation of a novel about a woman who takes a job at a tech company and gets involved with a mysterious man, which was a hot property at Cannes. However, word is that she will likely drop off that project as Emma Watson has been offered the part.
Throw a rock these days and you’ll likely hit a movie that Vikander is starring in. She first turned heads with her performance in period drama A Royal Affair, opposite Mads Mikkelsen, and in the last couple of years alone she starred in six films including period drama Testament of Youth, crime actioner Son of a Gun and fantasy epic Seventh Son (in which she was about the only good thing). She will soon be seen in action reboot The Man From U.N.C.L.E., food comedy Adam Jones, opposite Bradley Cooper, and biography The Danish Girl, alongside Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne.
As stated, nothing is set in stone yet but we’ll update whenever details get confirmed. Bourne 5 is eyeing a July 29th, 2016 release while Assassin’s Creed is set for a December 30th, 2016.
