Twentieth Century Fox has released some brand new character posters and a banner for their upcoming, highly anticipated reboot of Fantastic Four.
Following the ill-fated franchise starring the likes of Jessica Alba and Chris Evans back in the early 2000s, this one looks like it’s taking things in a much darker direction in everything from the alternate reality plot (controversially changing it from them going into outer space to gain their powers) to the overall look and feel.
This time the fab four will be played by Miles Teller as Reed Richards AKA Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Susan Storm AKA The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm AKA Human Torch and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm AKA The Thing. Toby Kebbell also features in the cast as Victor Domashev AKA Dr. Doom.
Check out the four character posters below, as well as a banner poster that shows them all side-by-side:
Teller and Mara’s faces look Photoshopped to the max – somehow less realistic than The Thing! – but Jordan’s “Flame On” arms do look pretty cool.
The reboot is being directed by Josh Trank, who showed the world he is a serious talent to look out for with found-footage superhero-esque flick Chronicle. He has also co-written by the script alongside Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect).
What do you make of the posters? Are you looking forward to this reboot or do you think it will turn out as disastrous as last time?
Fantastic Four is set for UK release on August 6th, 2015.
