Louis C.K. is set to direct, write and star in forthcoming indie film I’m a Cop.
The film marks the comedian’s return to the big screen in this capacity after a fourteen year absence. Since the critically panned Pootie Tang – which he co-wrote for star Chris Rock – C.K. has appeared in a few films including Woody Allen’s Oscar-winning Blue Jasmine and as an FBI agent in David O’ Russell’s multi-Oscar-nominated American Hustle but this film sees the funny man have complete control in the same role he fills on his FX series Louie.
C.K. will reportedly star as a depressed, middle-aged volunteer police officer who is trying to emulate his mother’s impressive success in the field. After her death, he sets out to become a real police officer.
It has not yet been announced when the film will be hitting cinemas, however if you are looking for your fix of Louis on the big screen he will be appearing alongside Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren in Brandon Polanco’s Trumbo in January 2016. And for the comedian at his best, make sure to check out his Emmy-winning FX tragicomedy Louie, currently in its 5th season.
How do you think C.K. will fair on the big screen this time?
